   CRIME SURVEY

Police and Gordon

Please take part in my Blackpool Crime Survey. The results will be sent to Home Secretary Jacqui Smith.

POLICING AND QUALITY OF LIFE IN BLACKPOOL– YOUR SAY

I know that feeling safer on the street and in your home, having good policing and tackling anti-social behaviour are big concerns here in Blackpool South. I know it because I meet up around the town with individuals and residents groups who alert me to their issues.

I’ve talked to local Area Forum members, community beat managers and police officers about how we reassure older people concerned about going out and their home security. Shopworkers, hoteliers and small businesses have a right not to feel threatened by the minority of visitors who drink too much and behave badly.

I want your views on what more can be done. I want to feed your experiences back to Home Secretary Jacqui Smith and her Ministers.

Jacqui Smith talks about Policing in Blackpool.

"I congratulate the police on their progress in making neighbourhood policing a reality for every area of England and Wales. April will mark the start of a new kind of relationship between the police service and the public. Every household will hear from, be able to contact and be able to influence their local team."

"We want everyone to have the opportunity to shape their team's priorities, and the use of local contracts between the police and the public can help us to deliver this important change."
