SIGN UP HELP TO SAVE ST GEORGE’S POOL

Gordon is campaigning for a new use for St George’s swimming pool after Blackpool Council said this summer that they wanted to close it.
Gordon said. “I want to keep St Georges open; the Government has recently announced a package for free swimming places for the over 60’s and Blackpool Council is being awarded £50,000 locally to do this for local residents.”
“With the huge success of the Palatine centre its pool is extremely busy already. The extra money for swimming being given by Government could be used to offer free swimming at St Georges. Thus giving a community use for the pool back to local residents.”
“The government have already written to Blackpool council about how they might used this extra money as have I. I will be urging the Council to look into re-using this valuable community asset. People who want our council to give St Georges a second chance.”
